Therapies

At Fortify, we may incorporate specialized approaches such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and IFS-informed EMDR to help process difficult experiences, work through emotional blocks, and move forward in areas where you feel stuck.

EMDR has been proven to help a wide range of challenges including:

  • Anxiety, panic, and stress

  • Trauma and distressing experiences

  • Grief and loss

  • Self-doubt and shame

  • Relationship patterns and trust

  • Performance anxiety and perfectionism

  • Feeling stuck in familiar patterns

  • Life transitions and change

EMDR Therapy

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based therapy that helps people move forward in areas where they feel stuck by helping the brain reprocess experiences and support its natural healing process.

Unlike traditional therapy techniques that require a person to describe a traumatic experience in detail, EMDR uses bilateral stimulation—such as eye movements, tapping, or sound—to activate both sides of the brain and reprocess memories to be less emotionally disruptive.

IFS-Informed EMDR Therapy

Internal Family Systems (IFS) helps you understand and connect the different parts of yourself, including those that feel vulnerable, protect you, or push you forward. Integrated with EMDR, this approach helps bring these parts into greater alignment, working through internal conflicts and creating space for meaningful change.
